Briarwood began in the 1960s as a Planned Community. The original primary developer was Don Hodney, although many other builders participated in the later phases. It was completed in the late 1990s and consists of 406 single family homes and 1 vacant lot owned by the homeowner next door.
It remains a Planned Community governed by the Briarwood Home Owners Association (BHOA). The Home Owners Association (HOA) is a non-profit, self-governing, volunteer Association. You become a member when you purchase a home in Briarwood.
Each homeowner is expected to keep their home and grounds in good repair and in harmony with the neighborhood. As a Planned Community, homeowners and residents must make written application to the Architectural Control and Covenant Enforcement Committee (ACCE) and confer with neighbors before making changes to the outside of their property.
